OUR PROVIDERS
Dr. Helena Bentley has been practicing pediatrics for over 34 years in the metropolitan Atlanta area. She is the founder and medical director of Kidcare Pediatrics LLC.
Dr. Bentley graduated from Georgia State University with a BS degree in Biology, and graduated with honors from the University of Florida, School of Medicine in 1982. She completed her pediatric residency training at Emory University affiliated hospitals in 1985.
Dr. Bentley is an adjunct faculty member of Morehouse School of Medicine department of Pediatrics, clinical pediatric preceptor for various healthcare training systems and has been a member of the medical staff of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta since its inception.
Dr. Bentley has participated in quality improvement and other research projects and community health awareness initiatives. She has always been an advocate for children and equitable healthcare for all, regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status. She has volunteered in various community and faith-based projects and has supported medical and ministerial mission groups in other nations, from Haiti to South America and West Africa.
Dr. Maria Axelrod was born and raised in Port Chester, NY. She received her undergraduate degree from Fordham University. After graduation she went on to SUNY Upstate Medical University and received her Doctor of Medicine Degree. Following medical school Dr. Axelrod completed her residency at The University of Rochester serving as an Ambulatory Chief Resident her final year. Dr. Axelrod is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Axelrod enjoys all facets of pediatric care her special interests include newborn and infant care and asthma and allergic conditions. She is also bilingual being fluent in both Spanish and English.
Outside the office Dr. Axelrod loves to spend time outdoors with her husband daughter and 2 dogs. She also enjoys reading a good book and trying new restaurants.
